Chairs and Paintings

I am a painter who likes to incorporate chairs into my work.

Vase with Chair and Lemon began as just a painting of a vase of flowers on my bedroom windowsill. It was a nice enough painting but after a couple of years I added to it, attacking it with reds and oranges. Then I added the chair and the lemon. It is not a serious painting, but one I imagine making someone smile. I've always liked artwork that plays with scale, so I love the idea of being small enough to sit on that chair and have these huge leaves hanging above me.
